Voices at The Table

Belong to Everything

 And so, all the desires
I held became as is.
And they flowed
As cool and refreshing
As the simple
Trickle
Of a brisk
Autumn stream.

And looking
In the eyes
Of another,
Holding their gaze
In the sweet
Atmosphere
Of eternity,
Was simply
And apparently
The gift
Of perpetuating
Existence.

A breath in,
A breath out.
The rare opportunity
To behold the wind
Is a magnificent
Moment's experience
That needs no
Explanation.

Love,
I could only
Experience it,
Hold it,
And cherish it
In an outstretched hand,
Open, curious,
And unassuming.

For one brief moment,
All that was ever waiting
For me to belong
Rested unobtrusive,
Unexpecting,
And so lacking in meaning.
And within it there was
Rest and sigh
And laughter
And all the wisdom
Of God and Universe,
Willing to ask the question
And ready for
The curious conclusion
That there was
Never an answer
To be had.

And here,
In this place,
Like the mountains
And the colors of the rainbow
And the passing clouds,
There so refreshingly
Is nothing to obtain,
Or scheme up.
Nowhere to arrive.

Only the sweet isness
Of blooming flowers,
Falling leaves,
Swaying blades of grass,
And the still, welcoming
Invitation
To so seamlessly
Belong here
To everything.
