Telling Truth to Power

Telling Truth to Power

What people usually mean by “telling truth to power” is really speaking truth into fear, ego, and separation — not into real power at all.

True power doesn’t need to be confronted. It can listen. It can bend. It can change. What resists truth is fragility dressed up as authority.

Real power looks like: the capacity to listen without collapsing, the strength to admit wrong, the steadiness to protect rather than dominate.

So when someone “talks truth to power,” they’re often speaking to: insecurity with weapons, fear with titles, wounded-ness with control....... Not power.

Because power rooted in love welcomes truth. Only power rooted in fear tries to silence it. You could almost reframe the phrase as: telling truth to fear, telling truth to illusion, telling truth to domination. But never to real power.

Real power already knows the truth — and isn’t threatened by it.
