A LOVE BEYOND MEASURE
For much of our lives, we embark on quests, seeking validation, fulfillment, and identity outside ourselves. We chase achievements, relationships, and experiences, believing these external pursuits will reveal our true selves. Yet, the answers we seek were never out there but rather within. That sense of homesickness, the ache and yearning we carry, finds its fulfillment within the sanctuary of our own hearts.
We might climb the highest mountains, explore distant lands, or immerse ourselves in myriad experiences, only to realize that the essence of who we are—LOVE—was never hidden in any external endeavor. Instead, it has always been within us, waiting to be recognized.
This realization, ideally, comes as a profound awakening: understanding that we have been searching outside for something that has been present all along. The awareness of our true nature is not about discovering something new but about recognizing and embracing what was already there. It is a reminder that the quest for identity and fulfillment is not about external validation but about inner understanding, peace, and acceptance.
When we fall in love, we briefly glimpse our true nature. This ONE LOVE reveals itself through the eyes of another, the nature of that other unveiling the LOVE that has always resided within us. In their presence, our suffering fades, and we realize that in that moment, there is no other—only the ONE LOVE that unites all hearts everywhere.
Embracing this truth profoundly transforms our lives. It requires great courage and faith to surrender the barriers and layers of suffering to this ultimate reality. This shift moves us from seeking to acceptance, a wisdom found only in the heart. By looking inward and embracing the love that connects us all, we find the peace and clarity we have been longing for. The journey of discovering our true nature is less about finding and more about awakening to what we have always been, to what has always been present.
I write these words with an awareness of the difficulty of this journey and the courage required. Letting go of the barriers we have built to protect ourselves from suffering is no small feat. In the ego’s attempts to shield us from pain, we have, for years, blinded ourselves to the light of our true nature. Nigel Lott teaandzen.org

knocking on a door. It opens. I've been knocking from the inside.” Rumi.
